Well, it probably does, but if you tried to push that issue you may run into some problems.

Cognitive development basically means that you can improve yourself and your brain function by practice and the appropriate resources to focus your thought processes.

The biggest single problem you may have in pitching the notion of increased brain activity through good schooling is access. Basically, its simply that many people in need of social assistance do not have the access to the best schooling and educational practices (i.e.: having plenty of time to help their children study, funds for private schools, etc.).
The suggestion of taking time off to help one's children do better in school may not be a realistic option to many single parents or to parents in a low socio-economic class, and private schooling or private tutoring outside of school is even further from reality.

So it is certainly a topic up for discussion, but the better question may be; how can we successfully implement more cognitive development strategies while still offering them to all social and economic classes?

Good luck with that one...

It is true at the social clubs near where I live.

As members you have the right to vote on what happens to your club and it is consider a conflict of interest if you are a member and an employee.

You Mum has to check her contract, both as a member and an employee, and if it does state that she can't be an employee and a member she has to decide which she wants more - membership or employment.

She shouldn't have to if she can successfully keep her social and business life separate but that is very hard to do. Most people can not.

Isn't that profiling, and is it legal? I would make a stink about that.

Seems to make sense to me. A person is either a member or an employee so how could she be both?

You can not actually record him without his consent, you can state that from now on all visits will be recorded and a record kept. This should stop him as being found out will loose him his job, and since the job he is doing is a position of trust, he will not be allowed to do anything along those lines again as he has broken your trust.
You would only get a rap on the knuckles as it is in your own home, but it certainly would not be an admissible point.

You should have been told you can demand a new worker as their is no trust with this person and they must provide one for you, they can not make you have someone who makes you feel this bad and unreliable especially as they are coming into your own home.

You can always state besides the recordings you have been to citizens advice bureau and have sought legal advice on it as you feel you are being bullied and lied to.

Another option which is also completely legal, not very nice but legal, is that you can write into the newspaper and state that you are having problems with this social worker and would like anyone who has similar issues to get in contact with you as you are contemplating taking legal action and all peoples who wish to join in the same case are able to.
